The rapidly changing pace of the Indian Classical dance may or may not appeal to all but it has certainly become a talking point among those even remotely associated with this art. And for those more closely associated with it - for artists and connoisseurs alike - this is a time of curiosity and wonder. Truly enough this demand for change has given rise to a significant number of experiments and productions which are quite remarkable.

The great work done by the older cohort of dancers and the great composers of music for dance, spanning several generations, is worthy of respect and adoration. It also offers a uniquely balanced growth potential. The themes in their composition may sound ancient but minor adaptation to the central theme and narrative content could make for an interesting approach, without stepping out of the beauty of tradition, to create expressive depths. This will also give an opportunity for the dancers to convey his/her perception of the composition.
